Reading Ruskin Bond is like breathing the fresh mountain air, it feels like sitting in the mountains enjoying the cool breeze with a cup of adrak wali chai.
A town called Dehra was nothing short of being a very special read. It is special because we read about the beautiful town added with Ruskin Bond's personal stories. Sometimes I envy people born in the past years because they saw such a beautiful landscape of our country, which we can only read about and imagine.
This book is all about Dehradun, in all its glory. Dehradun, at present, the capital of Uttarakhand, a state in North India. In the 50s and 60s, it was known as Dehra and it was a relatively small town. Ruskin Bond spent his early childhood and teenage years in the town.
Words flow naturally from Ruskin Bond's pen. He has written about Dehra so beautifully, so vividly, you feel you're travelling the nooks and crannies of Dehra with him.
I really long the simpler life and simplicity which people lived by. Himalayas have always intrigued me, and I believe Himalayan people have the best stories to offer. One of my friends is from Uttarakhand and the stories he told us were so intriguing and so marvelous to listen to.
I admired the way of life in the city during pre independence and post independence. I could totally see myself fitting in there.
Overall, this presented a beautiful picture of vintage Dehradun. The beautiful poems in the end of the book were so heartwarming to read.
The narration was typical Bond style, simple language and giving food for thought. Made me fall in love with Ruskin Bond's writing all over again. There is a sense of comfort while we read our favourite author, you know you're in safe hands and the book will take care of you more than you taking care of it.

Which edition is your favourite, comment below: left or right? 🤔
I am so thankful that publishers release multiple editions for the UK/AUS & US. I am definitely a cover lover, so I tend to pick up my favourite of the two editions (sometimes I’m terrible and end up with multiples of the same book 😅)
Do you hunt down your favourite editions of books or do you grab what’s available near you?

QOTD: Any of you write coded letters ? Do you have your own alphabets and codes that you use? What about sigils ? .
So the one you see (2nd slide) is what I use.
I wanted to come up with complex letters but well, I'm not that creative and this one is easier to write.
Btw if anyone you are good at making sigils I would love to see how you do it. .
Everyone has that one love. The one that shapes you the most. The one that could have been. The one you think about and make comparisons to long into adulthood.
For Charlie, it's Fran! They meet in the summer they leave school. From different sides on the tracks, he is swept away with reinventing himself, into a version of himself she'll notice. He's escaping an incredibly difficult situation at home, and she's intrigued by someone so different to anyone else in her world of private school and security. They connect in a reproduction of Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliette, and as always, the course of true love never did run smooth!
The author cleverly captures feelings in Sweet Sorrow. The immense messiness of real life, and that awkward time when you're trying to figure out who you are, and what you want to do! It's evocative, and captures the essence of first love SO well!
I loved this gentle nostalgic tale, which felt like reminiscing with friends. It's full of emotion, and unforgettable characters, and is the perfect bitersweet book of the summer. Loved it 😊❤️ Thank you to my #bookbuddy @whatrachelisreading for sending me her copy 💛
♡🇩🇪 Guten Morgen ihr Butterhörnchen!
➸ Endlich wieder daheim!
Mal gucken was wir heute machen.
Was habt ihr vor? Ist für das Wochenende was besonderes geplant? 🤓❤️
Hope all is well! Today for #bookwolfaugust19 it's @hungryandhappy , a new account I found through this challenge! I am in love with Kristel feed and all the positivity and love vibes I get from all the photos!
QOTD: Which character would you like as your best friend? 🖤
I would love Lei from GOPAF! I think she is so loyal to the people she cares about and also so brave and kind 🙊 I cannot wait to start Girls of Storm and Shadow. Thank you @hodderscape for the ARC copy. I’m so glad I got to meet @girlinthelens at YALC this year 😻

Buongiorno a tutti e buon sabato!!
Voi che programmi avete per oggi? ❤

Heyyy!! Today's the fifth day of the #ifiwentto challenge that I'm hosting!! Today's is #IfIwenttoPanem (I'm posting a early cause I have an exam today) ------------------------------------------------------------------------
This is basically a pic of what I think my desk would look like if I went to Panem/was in the hunger games!! I'd take my Mockingjay bracelet, a couple of weapons(probably knives cause that's all I know how to use😅) and a whole lot of granola bars so I wouldn't end up during nightlock or something ------------------------------------------------------------------------
What would you take with you to Panem/The Hunger Games?

umano.” #bookstagram#booksofinstagram#booklovers#bookcollector#bookcommunity#instabooks#bookstagramfeatures#booktography#booknerdigans#booknerd#bibliophilie#bookporn#bookworm#picooftheday#ilovereading#leggerechepassione#ioleggo#leggeresempre#lemezzelanecasaeditrice #autoriemergenti

Weekends with The Happy Reader. I didn’t know much about Owen Wilson before other than the roles he plays in movies, but sounds like he’s quite the reader. There’s something warm and lovely in reading about readers and discovering what kinds of books appeal to them. He is making me want to re-read The Great Gatsby, truly one gorgeous novel!
Sharing one of my latest book deliveries from @bookaliciousmy 😍📚💞 hope you enjoy the quick unboxing vid as well and yes... I like all genres of books 😂😋😬 Happy weekend all!

In the not-so-distant future, India has fallen and the world is on the brink of an apocalyptic war. An attack by the terrorist group Invisible Hand has brutally eliminated the Indian Prime Minister and the union cabinet. .
As a national emergency is declared, chaos, destruction and terror reign supreme. From the ashes of this falling world, rises an unconventional hero – a vigilante known only as Kalki. Backed by a secret society called The Rudras, Kalki, along with Nushen, the Chinese superhuman spy, must do the impossible to save his country, and the world.
But who is Kalki? A flesh-and-blood crusader with a mysterious past? Or the Messiah the world has been waiting for? The future of human survival depends on a single man.
My opinion - 🖤This is a book based on the avatar of Lord Vishnu as 'Kalki'. 🖤The cover is very interesting and title matches the story perfectly. 🖤The author have researched alot for this book which makes this book very engrossing and informative. 🖤The flow of narration is good and language is simple to understand as well. 🖤The author has potrait many emotions precisely like friendship, power, love, hate, sacrifice etc. 🖤I'm eagerly waiting for sequel of this book. .

#Raipur - Dr Geetika, 'I studied MBBS and had to put in long hours of study at the campus, which the course demanded. Here,I got a chance to interact with a lot of seniors pursuing M.D. including one,who I always thought, had her life figured. She was studying to be a M.D. in #Anaesthesiology and was in a stable relationship with someone. From my perspective, she was leading a happy life.
But suddenly, one day,I heard she had killed herself in her #hostel room. Not once in our acquaintance, did I feel she was unhappy or distraught enough to take such a step.
This incident and the book 'Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine' by Gail Honeyman gave me a perspective that while people may seem fine and happy on the surface, there is always a lot more going on,than what meets the eye.
The book is about a young woman whose life seems perfectly planned, yet something seems odd about her. As the story unfolds, her mental health issues and past life trauma come to the surface. The book highlights the fact that there are times when even we ourselves may not know, we are suffering from a #mentalillness .
Though the #stigma around mental health has reduced, people who suffer rarely come forward. They feel they will be categorised as unstable and even those who step up, seek help for it in secrecy.
While studying #medicine ,I too, have come face to face with #anxiety or maybe even #depression at times.Luckily for me at such times,I could visit the on campus #therapist and also had my mother who is a MA in #psychology to keep a check on me.So I had not only family support but also professional help at hand, but not everyone may have the same.
There are times when the only thing people are looking for, from us,is a simple acknowledgement of what they are dealing with, no matter who they are.I dont think anybody should judge the reason why a person is sad or depressed.A bit of understanding can go a long way in healing..' @harpercollinsin #eleanoroliphantiscompletelyfine#eleanoroliphant#Gailhoneyman#mentalhealthawareness#mentalhealth#mentalhealthmatters#mentalillnessisreal#itsoktonotbeokay#lifeunplugged#hostellife#medical#mbbs#md

Oh my bloody hell, this was *stunning* I'd heard about this from a romance reviewer on YouTube (Shout out to FangirlMusings! Check her out she's awesome) Boy this book did not disappoint. It exceeded my expectations in every way.
Emma is fantastic. She was so sweet and smart I just loved her from jump. She melted my heart and made me want to protect her at all costs. She was a survivor man. As for Nicholas..........HAWWWWT. Lord the things this man said and thought my bloody god why is he not a real person???? I just.............. How was this Donna MacMeans' debut? It is so good I cannot even fathom. She came out the gate with brilliance. Friends, I have not highlighted so many passages from a book in a loooooooooong time. The writing is simply gorgeous.
Historical fans rejoice, I have your perfect book. It is this
