Two Zebras cautiously pass infront of an alert herd of Buffaloes in Lake Mburo National Park in Uganda.
Lake Mburo National Park is a beautiful national park with beautiful animals. It is the smallest of the savannah national parks in Uganda and it is one of the two parks in Uganda where you can spot zebras; the other park being Kidepo Valley National Park in North Eastern Uganda. What is unique about this park is; it's the only savannah national park with only herbivores. Lions and leopards used to exist there 20 years ago but they were eradicated by the neighboring communities because of their predatory nature.
Lake Mburo is located in Western Uganda and it's the closest national park to Kampala - Uganda's capital city. A drive to the park takes only 4 hours from Kampala which makes it a great park for those looking to encounter wildlife a short distance from Kampala or those heading to further parks like Kibale Forest National Park, Semliki National Park, Queen Elizabeth National Park, Mountain Rwenzori National Park or Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, but need to stop over for a first of glimpse at wildlife.
